Questions About the Menu
What is the most popular dish at Mazal?
The Shawarma Pita is our signature - slow-roasted lamb and brisket carved fresh off the spit, stuffed into a warm pita with hummus, tahini, and Israeli salad. Close behind: the Mazal Signature Hummus and the Falafel Pita.
Do you have vegan and gluten-free options?
Yes. Items marked V are fully vegan - including Falafel, Sabich, Baked Cauliflower, Cabbage Steak, and all hummus plates. Items marked GF or "GF option" are gluten-free or can be served without pita. Most bowls qualify as gluten-free.
What does "GF option" mean?
"GF option" means the dish can be made gluten-free by serving it as a bowl instead of in a pita. The pita itself contains gluten. Ask our staff and we'll adjust your order.
Is the food spicy?
Most dishes are mild to medium - bold in flavor but not hot. Our sauces (tahini, amba, lemon sauce) are savory rather than spicy. If you'd like extra heat, just ask.
Is the shawarma halal?
Yes. Our meat is halal-certified. We serve no pork on the menu.
Can I order the full menu online?
Yes - the full Mazal menu is available for delivery - order at mazaleat.com/pages/order. Delivery fees may apply. For the best price, call us to order pickup directly: (843) 425-8551.
What is sabich?
Sabich is an Israeli street food sandwich - fried eggplant, hard-boiled egg, potato, hummus, Israeli salad, and amba (a tangy mango sauce), all stuffed into a pita. It comes from Israel's Iraqi-Jewish community.
Does Mazal offer catering?
Yes - we cater private events, corporate lunches, and parties. Contact us at mazalrsc@gmail.com or call (843) 425-8551 to discuss your event.
