Mazal started with a simple idea — bring the warmth and flavor of Mediterranean street food to Charleston. Founders Gal & Tal Alhadef grew up around overflowing tables, shawarma turning on the spit, and the belief that a good meal can make anyone feel at home.

The restaurant is named after Grandmother Mazal, who cooked for 65 years and passed down the idea that food is how you say "I love you." That spirit lives in everything — shawarma slow-roasted on the spit, falafel made fresh every morning, sauces mixed from scratch before doors open.
